One week in and 83 more to go…

We made it through our first week. Not without some trials and tribulations. On the way down to the Jersey Shore (almost 300 miles, 6 hr drive) our side view mirror was flapping in the wind. Our steps wouldn’t pull in unless we kicked them and the most serious issue was our toilet system failed…that was a problem. HaHa! Let’s get to the good stuff first!
First stop was a Harvest Host at Back Bay Barbecue in Somers Point, NJ. Harvest Host is a membership we joined where you can stay at Breweries, Wineries, Farms, Orchards and places like Back Bay over night, boon docking (which means using our generator for our own systems, self-contained), at no cost. That night/morning is really when the shit hit the fan! Literally! Then, off to Cape May/Sea Isle City for a 5 day stay. Cool campground, luckily close to the bathrooms. All plugged in which means we had all our systems working through the camp. That morning we went to Walmart and picked up a port-a-poddy. Ingenious decision by Kathy.
Lotsa firsts! We did our first beach stop of the entire summer on our first day in Sea Isle City at Whale Beach. We took our first bike ride and started our work-out regiments. We played 500 Gin Rummy at night and got to watch an entire Phillies game outside the Coach. That was awesome! On a rainy day we drove to Atlantic City, walked the boards, saw Steal Pier, the Hard Rock and Ocean Casinos but didn't gamble. On the way home we stopped in Ocean City and got ripped off on two-dozen clams (tiny-tiny little necks), a beer and a margarita for $50 bucks. Then, the very quiet, quaint and very pretty Stone Harbor Beach the next day, where the sun was shining. When leaving, we stopped at Fred's Tavern ( had to stop, that was my Dad's name), bought a T-shirt, watched the Phil's and we had a dark and stormy.…or two.
Off to Philadelphia South/Clarksboro NJ KOA Campground. We stopped on the way at a mobil RV Repair guys house and he told us we needed to buy a minor rebuild kit for our toilet/vacum system. We ordered it right then and there and had it overnighted to our next stop. Our guy came back yesterday and rebuilt the vacuum toilet system motor. One shitty situation behind us. Finally! Ha! Then last night we drove 38 minutes to Newtown Square, Pa. to meet up with our dear friends Gunnar Doyal and his beautiful wife Barb. Rumpty-Dump made a guest appearance. He had two beers and dropped a hundy on the table and split before dinner. We arrived at 4:14PM and partied til 9. Whoa! Great time catching up. Eat'n, drink'n, laugh'n and high-five'n. Forty-five year friendships are forever.
Catching up today with more dear friends, my Sister, and Brother-in-law. Till next week! Peace & Love, Brad & Kathy

Great going on this journey with you. Except for the shitty part. I read about it during breakfast 😆.
Most excellent also to see you're fitting in your exercise regimens.
