17 Mile Scenic Drive, Pebble Beach, Carmel by the Sea.

Three more hours up the cost of California, we stayed in Moss Landing next to Castroville, the artichoke center of the world. We picked the spot cause it was only twenty minutes from Monterey. It was a great spot next to a marina where we heard seals barking day and night. We bought artichokes that Kathy attempted to make like her mom. Brad said they were not bad, but he was probably not wanting to hurt her feelings. Even though that’s surprising. We did have some yummy fried artichokes at a restaurant we ran into after exploring the campsite neighborhood with our bikes. But that’s not why we picked this place. Yes, the plan was to visit Monterey, Pebble Beach and Carmel by the Sea. And boy that worked out just fine.

On the way to the 17 mile scenic drive we stopped in Cannery Row In Monterey. It used to be a booming sardine canning town. We stopped by their Fisherman’s Wharf which was boring, wanted to go to the 20,000 square foot world class aquarium, but the line was too long and the price too high. So we just walked the streets for a bit. Cute little town with John Steinbeck as the focal point since he wrote the book Cannery Row. Anyone read the book? Should we buy it?

The best $11.25 spent was the 17 mile scenic drive. Yeh, that was the toll fee. We started at Pacific Grove, stopped at Pebble Beach golf course visitor center and ended in Carmel by the Sea for an awesome dinner at Flaherty’s. The in between Pacific Grove and Carmel was unbelievably outstanding. Beautiful! Picturesque! Splendid! The town of Carmel by the Sea was like a storybook. It was quaint, pretty, intimate and charming all at the same time. We walked and drove around the town and checked out the beach. They were all wonderful.

Our last day in Monterey we took a ride to Santa Cruz which was about an hour away. They had a bustling boardwalk with rides and lots of families. Next to the boardwalk was the Santa Cruz Wharf which was over 2700 feet long with stores and restaurant you could drive to the end and park all along the wharf. Since we packed a lunch, that’s where we ate. Little did we know that the wharf was home for more seals. They were a little more active in and out of the water then laying on the beach like you’ve seen in our previous blog.

Before heading back home to the RV, we cruised around and ran into Lighthouse point. Beautiful neighborhood, gorgeous water views, lots of surfers and the lighthouse was actually the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum. Another beautiful day in Paradise😎

Our next stop is Yosemite. Please make sure you check it out. Thanks for following our blog. If you have any suggestions, you won’t hurt our feelings. Please share your thoughts. JP, did we cut back on the food pics😂. Kathy and Brad

Love that whole mid past type area. I’m glad you stopped in Carmel, did you walk ride down to the beach? It’s so so so pretty. I see you didn’t do Monterey Bay Aquarium?!?!?! I was waiting for that. Maybe next time. 🤣. You got all the iconic shots along pebble beach and 17mi drive. You can’t go wrong anywhere you pint the camera. Splendid scenery.

Hey Jim. I just said to Brad, I need to check on Jim since I haven’t heard from him in a while. We didn’t feel like waiting in line for the aquarium. It went around the block. Carmel was like a storybook town. Loved it.

Thank you my brother. We’d post a lot more videos but in a lot of these campgrounds our internet is not very good so whenever we try to upload them the shit hits the fan! Or we’d upload more. We have a ton of them!
